After Young Thug’s lawyer requested to remove Judge Glanville from the YSL RICO case, the court will be delayed until another Judge can rule on the motion.

Young Thug’s YSL RICO case officially went off the rails a few weeks back after news of an alleged illegal meeting. The alleged meeting included  Judge Glanville, prosecutors, and star witness YSL Woody. YSL Woody previously spent the weekend in jail after refusing to testify but after the meeting allegedly had a change of heart. However, when Young Thug’s Lawyer Brian Steel heard about the meeting he immediately raised the issue. After refusing to reveal his source he was held in contempt of court and ordered to serve 10 weekends in jail.

Steel immediately moved to appeal his contempt charge and filed a motion to remove Judge Glanville.

Glanville for some reason thought he had the power to deny Steel’s motion for a new judge.

According to Complex, after admitting his mistake, Judge Belinda Edwards will now hear the motion to recuse Judge Glanville. Furthermore, this will delay the trial until a ruling is made.

Steel argues Young Thug can’t be given a fair shake in the YSL RICO trial because of misconduct like the private meeting with YSL Woody.

“The court has joined the prosecutors’ team and is biased against Mr. Williams and favorable to the prosecutors as objectively demonstrated on June 10, 2024, as well as throughout the pendency of this case.”

Also, Steel called for a mistrial and his peers in the legal community questioned how a mistrial hasn’t been granted already. Recently the trial officially became the longest criminal trial in the state with hundreds of witnesses yet to take the stand.
