Judge Paige Whitaker gave Young Thug five years in prison but commuted to time served. WSBTV reports that he will spend 15 years on probation but with the threat of 20 years in prison if he fails at probation. He is also essentially banned from the city of Atlanta unless he’s visiting for family weddings or funerals.

His sentencing also states that he must return to Atlanta to perform community service, in the form of anti-gang seminars for school-aged children.

Young Thug can finally put his YSL RICO Case behind him after changing his plea to guilty.

TMZ reports that after failing to agree on a deal with the prosecution, Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker offered a non-negotiated plea deal.

Seemingly the trial was headed for a mistrial without prejudice leaving the state to try the case again. The non-negotiated plea deal avoids a retrial, however, while allowing Judge Whitaker to decide his punishment.

As both sides returned to court for the non-negotiated plea deal the prosecution suggested Thug serve 45 years with 25 behind bars, a complete turnaround from offering the possibility of regaining his freedom today with 10 years probation. Before ending their argument on the 25-year sentence, the prosecution tried to have the mother of Donovan “Nut” Thomas” read a statement.
