Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker reunite for Thanksgiving

Days after announcing their divorce, prominent reality TV couple celebrates holiday with blended family

Just days after shocking fans with news of her impending divorce, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Kandi Burruss put family first for the holiday season.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter reunited with estranged husband Todd Tucker for Thanksgiving, proving that even in the midst of heartbreak, co-parenting remains at the center of their world.

On Thursday, Burruss shared a warm family snapshot with her 11 million Instagram followers, showing her surrounded by loved ones at her annual holiday gathering. The photo featured her daughter Riley Burruss, 23, Tucker’s daughter Kaela Tucker, 29, and the former couple’s two children together — Ace, 9, and Blaze, 6. Missing from the image was Tucker, but Burruss quickly headed off speculation before it could gain traction.

“Happy Thanksgiving!” Burruss captioned the post. “I truly enjoyed my day with my fam… Now I feel stuffed like a turkey & need to lay down.”

Then, Burruss immediately provided clarification: “Before anyone assumes anything — Todd came earlier to eat with us but he wasn’t there for the pic. He was not left out or anything like that.”

The reassurance sparked an outpouring of support from fans, many applauding Burruss’ commitment to keeping the day inclusive, others reminding her she didn’t owe anyone an explanation.

A marriage comes to an end

The Thanksgiving moment marked the first time the blended family reunited publicly since Burruss announced the couple’s split after 11 years of marriage.

“After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” Burruss penned in an emotional post last week. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be and co-parenting with love and respect.”

A few days later, Burruss opened up even further during a candid “Amazon Live” session, revealing the separation had been “brewing for a while.”

“My emotions have been up and down, all over the place,” she confessed. “I’ve had moments of sadness… So all the times you’ve been seeing me online all smiles means nothing. I’ve been going through it, child. I’ve been going through it. Life has been life-ing me.”

Despite the emotional turbulence, Burruss emphasized that she and Tucker remain united in one area: their children. As they navigate their transition, she said, they’re focused on “keeping it very friendly.”

Tucker, for his part, has kept quiet publicly, though he recently dropped a brief but telling comment to fans on Instagram, saying that he’s been “dealing with a lot.”

A new chapter begins

For Burruss, the path forward is about healing, growth, and rediscovering balance.

“I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family and my own growth,” she told her vast fanbase on IG. “I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace and understanding as we navigate this transition.”

With the holiday season officially underway, Burruss is proving that even amid personal upheaval, gratitude and family still lead the way.
