Fat Joe has new music with Babyface, Remy Ma coming soon
Rolling out spoke with Bronx hip-hop icon, actor, author, television personality, and philanthropist Fat Joe on Aug. 5 at the Palladium in New York. During the interview, Fat Joe revealed two featured artists on his forthcoming album, which is anticipated to be released as soon as October.
“I love Babyface, man. I hang out with him every week, man; I’m a huge fan,” the five-time Grammy-nominated artist shared. Joe continued to sing the praises of the singing and songwriting great, to who Fat Joe presented the inaugural Legacy Award at the Apollo Spring Benefit in June.
“In a time where music is being challenged by AI, Babyface is keeping musicianship alive with the next generation of songwriters and musicians. As if his music and fame weren’t enough, he also has given back to his community,” Joe continued. “His legacy is incredible.”
“An idol, legend, an icon — I mean, I love Babyface,” Fat Joe stated before sharing some big news about his own upcoming project.
“I got a song with [Babyface] on my new album,” he revealed while supporting Brooklyn boxer Edgar Berlanga, who is also Puerto Rican. Berlanga will challenge Mexican boxing legend Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas on Sept. 14.
“It might be like October, but it’s ready,” Fat Joe said in response to a question about when to expect the new project, which will also feature his longtime collaborator Remy Ma.
Fat Joe hosted a “Fat Joe and Friends” concert at the Apollo Theater earlier this year, which included performances by Jadakiss, Styles P, Keith Sweat, Jim Jones, Ashanti, Lil Kim and Fat Joe himself. Mary J. Blige, Carmelo Anthony and Angie Martinez were in attendance.
