Beats Taps Lil Wayne & LeBron James For New Beats Pill Launch
Beats is relaunching the Beats Pill and tapped Lil Wayne and LeBron James to help with their new campaign ‘The Predicament’.
At the height of the 2010’s Bluetooth speaker craze, there was one above the rest, the Beats Pill. The last iteration of the Pill, the Beats Pill+ launched in 2015 but unfortunately was discontinued by Apple in 2022. As we expected the Pill is returning better than ever and of course, the company snagged some familiar faces to help us get re-acquainted.
According to a press release, the new Beats Pill Speaker is up to order for $149.99 on the Apple website. Also, it comes in three colors Matte Black, Statement Red, and Champagne Gold.
“We’re excited to bring Beats Pill back to our portfolio,” said Chris Thorne, CMO at Beats. “There’s no better way to relaunch an iconic product than to team up with two icons that have been part of our family since Pill’s inception.”
One of the familiar faces in the ‘The Predicament’ campaign is LeBron James. James is a day-one supporter and the first celebrity to join Beats.
“The Beats Pill has been a staple in the James household from day one,” said LeBron James. “It’s an iconic product, so it’s exciting to be part of its relaunch for a new generation.”
Starring in the new campaign alongside King James is Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil Wayne. Wayne’s classic record “A Milli” blasts in the Ad while LeBron hosts a kickback at a swanky hotel room. Wayne is next door to the noisy room which is preventing him from sleeping. However, as Weezy goes to address the situation he realizes it’s King James and is faced with a predicament”.
