Answers About Gunna But Mask Sparks Frenzy

Young Thug is out here living his best life since beating his YSL RICO case with a plea deal, and he’s finally breaking his silence. The ATL rap king sat down with GQ to spill on life after being locked up and where things stand with his former day-one, Gunna. But while Thug was filling us in, it’s the furry mask he rocked during the chat that really had people talking.

Young Thug Showed Up To GQ Serving Looks
On Friday, April 24, GQ released its exclusive interview, and Thugger did NOT come to play with his fashion sense. The Atlanta native showed up and showed out in an avant-garde look. He was draped in a heavy, tattered coat that blended black and gray tones. Additionally, the coat had jagged, shredded edges, giving it a somewhat post-apocalyptic feel. It also had a textured, almost armor-like quality, with layered fabric that added size to his shoulders.
Under his shredded outer layer, a bright white fit flashed through the tears. But the real showstopper, though, is his mask. It’s a dark, grid-like piece that covers his face, with a pattern resembling a cage, making it hard to see his expressions. The mask added a mysterious, almost theatrical flair, perfectly matching Thugger’s reputation for always pushing fashion boundaries.

Thug Addresses Feud With Gunna
During his chat with GQ, the ‘Lifestyle’ hitmaker didn’t just dodge questions about his former protégé Gunna, he straight-up iced him out. When interviewer Zach Baron pressed Thug about the state of his relationship with Gunna, the 33-year-old let out a laugh that said more than his words. “Yeah, I know everybody wondering that,” Thug smirked, before adding, “I don’t know.”
Roomies, as you know, their bad blood stems from the messy YSL RICO case that rocked Atlanta’s rap scene. While Thug sat behind bars for over two years, Gunna took an Alford plea in December 2022, walking free with a suspended sentence. The move sparked a firestorm, with fans and rappers like Lil Baby and Lil Durk branding Gunna a “snitch.”
Thug’s recent comments and that now-deleted X post from November 2024, where he snapped, “Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know u, my guy,” suggested he’s over the friendship for good.
