Rihanna Debuts Baby Bump En Route To Met Gala 2025

Rihanna always has the internet talking about her “look” before stepping on the Met Gala carpet! This year, a video and paparazzi photos re-fueled rumors that she might be expecting baby number three with A$AP Rocky. Those rumors first surfaced in March during a Barbados trip. Then, on Monday (May 5), fans seemingly got more wood for their fire when Rih popped out with what looks like a baby bump.

Rihanna Rocks The Internet Before Hitting Met Gala Carpet

So, let’s get into it! About an hour into the red carpet kickoff, a video of Rihanna in a hallway. Soon after, photos surfaced of the superstar outside the Carlyle Hotel. Remember, Rihanna’s signature move for the Met Gala is being fashionably late to the party! So, these sightings of the star are an extra earlyyyy sneak peek!

In the video posted by WWD, Rihanna was in the hotel’s hallway surrounded by what looks like security. She wore a grey ensemble: a long-sleeved shirt, a long skirt, a bucket hat, high socks, and closed-toe heels. Sis had a brown fur hanging over one hand but it did little to hide what looks like a baby bump poking through! The bump became even more evident when photos of Rihanna walking out of the hotel appeared on Getty Images. To keep it a buck fifty, between her shirt riding up and the brown fur not being large enough, the bump seemed to be on full display. 

The grey look isn’t giving the Met Gala final look, so we can only wait to see what’s coming next! For now, we know that Rocky isn’t hiding whether Rihanna is carrying a bump!  According to a red carpet video from Essence, he was on the red carpet before his bae. While he didn’t spill any tea on her carpet look, he did talk about keeping her “baby hump” uncovered!

Is She Giving Super Bowl Surprise Energy?

It’s no secret that Rihanna is a mother to two-year-old RZA and one-year-old Riot Rose. Like this Met Gala sneak peek, her second pregnancy also had a wardrobe-related debut energy. You might recall that fans first learned about Riot when Rih headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2023. She popped out wearing an all-red look, bodysuit, and corset with a matching jumpsuit. Millions of people watched as Rih’s baby bump debuted high in the sky, assuming it was all planned! Months later, the superstar clarified that a wardrobe malfunction — the bump had grown too big — was why she announced it. At the time, only her stylist knew she was expecting!

“No one knew I was pregnant. I just told my stylist, ‘Make sure it’s stretchy,’” she told Access Hollywood in December 2023. “So the undergarment was stretchy and this was baggy, but you know, the zip. It just stopped right there! So it had to be what it had to be.”

THESE Moments First Sparked Pregnancy Rumors 

Baggy clothes, a lawyer, and internet detectives were the recipe that gave the Navy a taste of a possible baby number three. It kinda-sorta started with a viral comment by A$AP Rocky’s lawyer. In February, Joe Tacopina claimed Rihanna and Rocky had promised to name baby number three after him after he won the criminal assault trial against the rapper. At the time, he didn’t say whether the singer was already expecting, but the social media streets were buzzing regardless!

In March, Rihanna returned to her hometown, Barbados, to host a brand trip for a collab between Fenty and Puma. There, she hosted a launch party and walked into the function wearing a sporty streetwear look that had the internet in shambles. The womb watchers were going extra hard, speculating about what looked to be a slight belly bump in videos. She didn’t address the speculations, keeping it all business in the media and on socials, but still, the talk lasted for days!

After returning from her Fenty trip, Rihanna popped out to support her man at Rolling Loud. Her ‘fit for the music festival included an oversized Balenciaga coat. Still, $2,450 wasn’t enough to keep the womb watchers at bay. If anything, it fueled the talks even more!
