Dawn Richard Reveals She Is Terrified Of Diddy
While Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal case continues, his accuser and former artist Dawn Richard claims she feared his “vicious temper.” The “terrified” singer reports physical abuse after confronting him. This comes after the singer filed a lawsuit against Combs in September.
You may recall that Richard was a member of Danity Kane. The girl group was formed on MTV’s Making the Band, produced and hosted by Combs himself. After the group disbanded, Combs formed Diddy Dirty Money, featuring himself, Richard, and Kaleena Harper.
As BOSSIP reported, on Sept. 10, Richard filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and inhumane treatment while working together. The filing also stated that she witnessed the disgraced music mogul physically abuse ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura.
As Diddy awaits trial for sex trafficking and racketeering charges in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, more details of his alleged crimes continue to be released. On Nov. 21, Richard’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, sat down with BBC Newsnight.
In the interview, Bloom revealed Richard alleges Combs “groped and grabbed [Richard’s] body parts, sexually assaulted her, that he not only failed to pay her money that was promised to her, but actually prevented her from eating and sleeping during those years – just treated her terribly.”
According to Richard, she attempted to confront the Bad Boy founder about the treatment she was receiving, but he became “really violent.”
“She said Sean Combs had a vicious temper and she was absolutely terrified of him … [it was] just a really violent, tumultuous atmosphere,” Bloom stated. “Many other people already have come forward with the allegations that people were drugged, that they were forced into sexual activity in order to have business deals with Sean Combs.”
Diddy’s Legal Team Responds To Dawn Richard
Diddy’s legal team responded to Richard’s claims when she first filed the lawsuit, stating that she was just looking for a “payday.”
Nevertheless, Combs is focused on getting back home. His trial is set for May 2025; however, he is desperately seeking bail to prepare for trial from home. His legal team has attempted to get the rapper bail three times — each time, he was denied. On the fourth attempt, Diddy and his legal team offered $50 million, security, no contact with anyone (other than attorneys), and a promise to turn in his passport. According to People, he appeared in court on Nov. 22, and a decision regarding his bail is expected sometime next week.
