Trump Supporters Clash With Poll Workers…Already
Election Day hasn’t even happened yet, and Trump supporters are already at polling stations for early voting starting MAGA melees (or QAnon quarrels, Trumpy tribulations, or Karen Klan Kerfluffles — you get the point) while threatening election workers for doing their jobs.
According to WSI 10, authorities in South Carolina are investigating an incident in which a white man in pro-Trump apparel verbally attacked a Black woman poll worker, calling her a “f**king b**ch,” all because he was told he couldn’t wear his “Let’s Go Brandon” hat in accordance to state law that prohibits people from wearing items at polling stations that explicitly promote a particular party or candidate — which, by the way, is legally prohibited in nearly half the states in the country.
From Mediaite:
POLL WORKER: You’re not gonna be able to–.
(CROSSTALK)
TRUMP FAN: You f***g b***!
CAMERA PERSON: Oh wow!
(CROSSTALK)
Sir, listen, don’t cuss at me–.
TRUMP FAN: This is my motherf****’ right right here!
POLL WORKER: (INAUDIBLE).
TRUMP FAN: A’ight then shut the hell up and let me vote!
POLL WORKER: We ain’t got nothing else to say! We cannot serve you! We’re gonna move on.
TRUMP FAN: (THROWS HAT) There it is right there!
POLL WORKER: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
TRUMP FAN: (GABS POLL WORKER’S HANDS – SHE RECOILS).
POLL WORKER: Don’t do that!
CAMERA PERSON: My God. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
(TRUMP FAN ADVANCES — POLL WORKERS RESTRAIN TRUMP FAN).
POLL WORKER: TAKE HIM OUTSIDE!

So, here we have another misogynoir-loving MAGA melanin-not who claims to love America but is unfamiliar with what rights he does or doesn’t have under the rule of American law.
WSI 10 noted that, per South Carolina law, “Voters are not allowed to wear anything that displays a political party, candidate name or ballot issue..”
“The poll manager shall use every reasonable means to keep the area within five hundred feet of any such entrance clear of political literature and displays, and the county and municipal law enforcement officers, upon request of a poll manager, shall remove or cause to be removed any material within five hundred feet of any such entrance distributed or displayed in violation of this section,” the law also states.
But even if this white man didn’t know that, why does he feel the need to lash out at poll workers who clearly don’t make the rules? Could it be that his resentment for Black women in positions of authority goes well beyond his unwillingness to vote one into the White House? I mean, can you imagine how many times he has called VP Kamala Harris a “f**king b***” just for breathing the air this close to the U.S. presidency?
I suppose the best thing that can be said about the Trump supporter in SC is that he didn’t whip out a machete to threaten election workers like another Trump supporter in Florida.
According to MSNBC, 18-year-old Trump supporter Caleb James Williams was arrested and charged with attacking an elderly person after he allegedly pulled a machete on a Harris campaigner at the Beaches Branch Library in Neptune Beach, where citizens were voting Tuesday.
Williams was at the library with a group of agitators who were there “to protest and antagonize the opposing political side,” Neptune Beach Police Chief Michael J. Key Jr. said.
From MSNBC:
The group approached Harris supporters and, after an argument broke out, Williams “brandished a machete in an aggressive, threatening posture over his head,” Key said. “The group was there for no other reason but for ill intentions, to cause a disturbance.”
Williams has been charged with felony aggravated assault on a person 65 or older and misdemeanor exhibition of a dangerous weapon, The Associated Press reported, citing police records. The people he is accused of threatening are two unidentified women ages 71 and 54, police said. Williams is being held at the Duval County Jail; neither the public defender’s office nor Williams’ father returned the AP’s request for comment.
This is as good a time as any to mention that the GOP has promised that on Election Day, it will deploy more than 100,000 attorneys and volunteers across battleground states to monitor polling locations for evidence of election fraud that virtually every study has shown is not happening in the U.S. Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, even announced that they will deploy people who will stop “illegal citizens” from voting — which election data also shows is not happening in U.S. elections — and people “who can physically handle the ballots,” which, by the way, is very much illegal.
So, maybe the truth is that Republicans are deploying MAGA marauders to intimidate voters and poll workers, and maybe these latest examples of Trump supporters causing trouble at the polls are only the tip of that iceberg.
