19-Year-Old Employee Found In Oven At Walmart
Authorities have released more information in connection to the death of Gursimran Kaur, a 19-year-old Walmart employee, who was found in a store’s oven.

Here’s What Police Revealed About The Investigation Into Gursimran Kaur’s Death
On Monday, November 18, Canada’s Halifax Police Department released an update on the investigation into Kaur’s death. Furthermore, the release asserted that Kaur’s passing “has been determined not to be suspicious.”
Additionally, the release asserted that police did not discover evidence of foul play amid their investigation.
Ultimately, the release concluded by noting that police have met with Kaur’s family to inform them of the update on the investigation and urge the public to remain respectful of their privacy.
“Investigators met with family to share this update and extend condolences. Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time,” the release reads. “The family asks the public to respect their privacy and the dignity and memory of their loved one, as they receive this news.”
More Details On How The 19-Year-Old Employee Was Found In The Walmart Oven
As The Shade Room previously reported, on Saturday, October 18, the Halifax Police Department received a call around 9:30 a.m. reporting a “sudden death” onsite. Furthermore, an initial press release shared by the department explained that a “19-year-old woman employee” was found deceased inside the store.
“The woman, who was an employee of the store, was located in a large walk-in oven belonging to the store’s bakery department,” a subsequent press release shared.
At the time, the department shared that their investigation would be “complex.” Additionally, the department noted that it would also partner with several agencies. Lastly, the department urged the public to “be mindful of sharing speculative information on social media.”
More Details On Gursimran Kaur
As The Shade Room previously reported, Gursimran Kaur was identified as the woman found in the store’s oven via a subsequent GoFundMe campaign. Additionally, the campaign shared that Kaur worked at the location with her mother, who also discovered her body.
“Gursimran and her mother both worked at Walmart for the last two years. In that evening… Gursimran’s mother tried to locate her after not seeing for one hour. She asked around, but everyone brushed aside thinking that she may be somewhere helping a customer… Her phone was not reachable… Mother started panicking as it was unusual for her to switch her phone off during the day. She reached out to the onsite admin for help,” the campaign detailed. “As you all know now, her remains were found inside the walk in oven in the Bakery after a few hours. Imagine the horror that her mother experienced when she opened the oven, when someone pointed it out to her!”
After the 19-year-old was discovered, the Walmart location was closed, and grief counseling was offered to employees. According to USA Today, the store plans to reopen in the coming weeks.
